Illustrate a character trait in any media.
Consider
- How can complex ideas like character traits be represented symbolically? How can they be shown as part of a narrative?
- How can use make artistic decisions (media, composition, techniques, ect.) that communicate the ideas you want to express?
Idea development
1. Read about trait theory and make note of anything that interests you in your sketchbook.. If you want to, take Cattell's personality trait measure.
2. Pick one or more of the works below. Read the content linked to the work and think about how the artist communicated information about personality traits in the work.
Planning
1. Select a personality trait to focus on. If you are unsure, list possible ideas and pick one. Decide what you want to communicate about the trait you selected.
2. Plan your work by sketching, taking reference photos, modeling or experimenting. If you haven't decided on media/ technique, planning is a time you can try out different possibilities.
3. Create your final work.
